Coaches

Varsity Head Coach Ty Shippen:

Ty Shippen is a guidance counselor at Skyline HS in School District 91.  He played college basketball at Ricks College, BYU, and the University of Alaska Anchorage and was a first team all-state player at Rigby in 1994-1995 where he played for current Hillcrest head coach Donnie Baldwin.  Ty was a graduate assistant coach at University of Alaska Anchorage before coming to Skyline.   Ty and his wife Kaly have a son and two daughters.  Contact Ty at 208.390.9719.

Assistant Coach Emmett Shippen:

Emmett Shippen is a farmer, rancher, and former high school math teacher.  Emmett has four sons and one daughter.   Between the boys there are 5 state championship appearances.  Three played college basketball.  The oldest son Shane played at Ricks College.  Another son Trent led Colorado State University to both the NIT championships at Madison Square Garden where he held the record for the most 3-pointers made and took CSU to the second round of the NCAA tournament.  Another son, Troy,  played football as a free safety at Ricks College and ISU and was the Big Sky Decathlete Champion.   His only daughter Amy was a cheerleader at BYU and after college cheered for the Clippers and the 49ers.

Assistant Coach Travis Jenkins:

Travis Jenkins is a school psychologist for School District 91.  Travis was an outstanding player at Madison High School playing for current Madison coach Billy Hawkins.  He played college basketball at Ricks College.  Travis has been an excellent JV assistant and JV Head coach at Skyline for 6 years.    Travis and his wife Laura have three daughters.

JV Head Coach Clint Cornish:

Clint Cornish is a Spanish teacher for School District 91.  He graduated from University of Montana and played college football at Montana Western University.  Clint and his wife Kass have a son and a daughter.

Freshman Head Coach Ryan Marlow: 

Ryan is a Nuclear Engineer at ScienTech.  He was an outstanding basketball, football, and track athlete at Snake River HS and won several state championships.  Ryan has coached several youth teams in Idaho Falls and is in his first year as head freshman coach at Skyline.  Ryan and his wife Heidi have 2 boys and 1 girl.
